We are very graateful for our manager's care of the children by teaching them to wash often and not to use the usual greeting of a handshake. The children have had fun designing another type of greeting, a kind of knee knock. Staff have agreed to stay on sight and for those who do go home, a 14 day quarantine welcomes them back.
The Kenyan government has allowed the children in Grades 4, 8, and 12 to return to school, as of mid-October, 2020.
Back at the Centre, the rest of the Mercy and Caring Home children not yet allowed back to public school attend daily classes with "big sisters", 3 young women who are Grade 12 graduates, plus one ECD teacher, being their teachers.
The church is now open on Sundays with the children meeting for their sevice first, followed by adults, some from the community.. Renovations hae been done and the church now looks inviting.
